Our Current Study - The Life and Teachings of Jesus!
This year we started a new chronological study of the life and teachings of Jesus! It is exhilarating to follow Jesus footsteps beyond His birth and boyhood, to His baptism, His being tested in the desert and beginning His ministry!
It has become clear that everything Jesus said and did, He intended to reach the people of His time as well as to all Beleivers He knew would come after Him!
We examined the 12 very improbable people he chose to be His Apostles and to carry on the faith after His departure.
We've studied the particular teachings He chose, including His great Sermon on the Mount.
We've seen the underlying meaning of the miracles He performed including: the calming of the storm, His feeding the 5,000 and His walking on water, the raising of the dead and the healing of the man born blind
Now in the next segment, Jesus takes His message straight into the heart of Jerusalem and the surrounding areas of Judea. Jesus knew then that approx. 6 mo later, they would crucify Him there during the period of Passover.
Yet He chooses to take His message of love and salvation to the very people most directly responsible for His crucifixion! During this time, Jesus will teach many of His most profound parables and perform more of His great miracles.
Again, we will see His intent was to reach through time and touch us...

Just As I AM Outreach in Action:
Homeless - Santa Ana: We continue to provide gift bags to the homeless, including: The Gospel of John, Steps to Peace, Daily Bread devotional, socks, pens-postcards to contact loved ones! Many seem most excited to receive God’s Word!
Christian Counselor in Africa: We are excited to extend our outreach to sponsor
Felicia Annan, a Christian street minister working in Ghana, Africa.
Estimates are that there are 30-thousand abandoned street children living
in Ghana, alone. Felicia has a heart for not only the children, but the families living on
street. She knows their names, their stories, their struggles and their sadness. We
pray many will come to Christ. Many are said to be coming to Christ!
New Outreach:
Backpacks for Children in Africa - In Uganda, Ghana and the Congo, children
displaced by war, live in either IDP (internally displaced persons) camps or
on the street in slums. Often these children have no where
to keep their few possessions. So what little they have is often stolen.
In response Just As I AM partnered with other individuals
who sponsored the purchase of Backpacks! For each $10 donation,
we purchased a backpack and: a children’s Story of Jesus, Simple
Steps to Receiving Jesus booklet, a Christian coloring
book (illustrating the gospel in words and pictures to color)
and crayons. As well as personal care items; including a comb,
toothbrush and toothpaste.
By partnering together we were able to send 250 backpacks to needy children in Africa!
So thanks be to God and all of you who give in so many ways and enable us to reach out to others!
